Supporting Animal Welfare in Local Communities

On 8 April 2026, the EberVet CVC team partnered with SAWS (Stanford Animal Welfare Society) for a successful pet sterilisation drive in Stanford, reinforcing our shared commitment to animal welfare, responsible pet ownership, and community veterinary care.
A Well-Coordinated Veterinary Outreach
With the support of the dedicated SAWS team, led by Veronica Carter, the day ran smoothly from start to finish. Sterilisation days require careful planning, from patient intake and record-keeping to surgery and post-operative care. Thanks to excellent coordination, every step was handled with professionalism and compassion.
19 Successful Sterilisation Procedures Completed
A total of 19 sterilisation procedures were completed. Each animal received attentive care. This covered everything from being calmly prepared for anaesthesia to being closely monitored during recovery. Our team ensured that every pet was treated with kindness, safety and respect throughout the process.
Why Pet Sterilisation Matters
Initiatives like this play a vital role in reducing pet overpopulation, improving animal health, and supporting local communities. Dog and cat sterilisation not only prevents unwanted litters but also contributes to healthier, longer lives for pets.
Looking Ahead
We extend our sincere thanks to SAWS for making the day seamless and impactful. We look forward to continuing this important work together when we return for our next sterilisation clinic on 29 April.

Eileen Van de Walt and Caroline Phadi (Animal HealthTech) are seen here injecting a sedative to calm our patients down and allow for a smooth anaesthetic and recovery.
SAWS members are doing the very important admin work to ensure all patients are recorded and issued with sterilisation certificates.
