“Dear clients and friends
During this trying time we’d like to assure our clients that we take both your health and the health of our staff very seriously.
When of our staff members felt ill on Saturday afternoon, she was immediately isolated at home. Last night we received the news that she had tested positive for COVID and we made the difficult decision to close the practice. This is to limit the risk to all of our staff and ,of course, to you and your families.
This is very difficult for us, because we also take your pet’s health very seriously, and we will miss them terribly.
We have put the following measures in place to assist you and your pet:
- If your pet is ill or needs emergency care please contact one of our sister clinics, EberVet Pet Clinic on 021 854 3275 or Cottage Vet Clinic on 021 854 3275 or one of the clinics that may be nearest to you. All of our nearby clinics have been informed and we will send your pet’s history to them if needed. They can also contact us to discuss a case if need be.
- If your pet needs chronic medication, WHATSAPP ONLY on 082 537 7527 for orders. We will ensure they get their medication.
- If your pet was recently treated at our clinic and you need advice on their care, please send us a WHATSAPP.
- If you need a non-prescription pet food or tick and flea prevention, please visit the EberVet Vetshop at Lion’s Square. If you need a prescription food, please visit your nearest veterinary clinic or WHATSAPP for assistance.
We know that this may cause anxiety for those of you who were recently at the clinic. We’d like to reassure you that the risk of contact with the affected staff member was very low for all clients and that our staff have been following mask and disinfection protocol very carefully.
The clinic will be closed for approximately 8 days for deep cleaning and sanitisation. We are following the Health Department’s guidelines as well as guidelines for other essential health workers. All staff members will be isolated and will undergo COVID testing after the appropriate time period has elapsed.
This is a difficult time for us all and we thank you for understanding, and for the many kind well wishes we have already received.
We are committed to ensuring that our clinic is once again the safe and happy haven for your pets where they receive the best veterinary care.
As soon as we have been given the all clear, we will open our doors to you again. We will make contact when that happens.
Thank you again for your tremendous support and kind understanding.
Please, stay safe,”
